The We Are All Human organization and more than 75 Latino leaders activate Hispanic Recovery Plan to support workers and businesses affected by the coronavirus crisis. It is not yet known what the definitive effect of the pandemic will be on the economy, but with this type of initiative they seek to reduce the impact. Learn more about it in this article from Hispanic Entrepreneurs.

Joining efforts

In the face of the coronavirus crisis in the United States and the world, there is something very evident: only joint work and timely decisions will allow the rapid recovery of all those affected. Therefore, the organization We Are All Human (WAAH) teamed up with a group of Latino leaders to create a recovery platform.

The organization's executive director, Claudia Romo Edelman, warned during the launch that "Hispanics will be disproportionately impacted," said the US press. For this reason Romo Edelman invited to take joint actions and support each other among the members of the community.

WAAH will work on the Hispanic Recovery Plan through the Hispanic Star initiative. In addition, the organization is joined by Latino leaders throughout the country in order to promote coordinated work.

The intention is to provide training and timely information among community members to help businesses and workers who have been affected. Likewise, they will seek to promote Hispanic talent to give it greater visibility.

Activate Hispanic Recovery Plan, what does it consist of?

WAAH reported the details of the plan through the US press. The initiative is aimed at supporting members of this community throughout the country with the intention of reducing the impact of COVID-19, which many are already beginning to feel.

The premise of the organization is that having a recovery program is what will allow them to get up again after the crisis. That is, it is necessary to continue working at this time, even if the businesses are closed or there are fewer clients requesting services from Latino workers. With this they make clear that the future will depend on the foundations that are built today.

To do this, through the plan they launch an information platform to help Hispanic business owners and workers. Thus, they seek to mobilize and unify efforts to help those who have been affected by the pandemic.

Through this platform they will have access to electronic conferences on business, health, public policy, among other topics of interest. These meetings will be daily and will have the participation of experts in each of the areas.

A platform for exchanging talents and services will also be made available to Hispanic workers. The objective of the same is to give them greater visibility, so that they have more job opportunities.

Also, it will create Hispanic Star Hubs, through which local priorities will be addressed.

Lastly, those who activate the Hispanic Recovery Plan indicated that they will ask for more support for the Hispanic communities from large corporations. With this they will seek to include more Hispanic workers in the production chains and at the same time encourage the retention of talent.

Vulnerable community

The Hispanic community in the United States has demonstrated its entrepreneurial spirit in recent years. They have been making their way to the point of becoming successful entrepreneurs.

In fact, Hispanics outperform other communities in the number of startups in the country. Thus, they also contribute to job creation, creating more than 2.3 million jobs.

But they still have many challenges to overcome, and now the coronavirus crisis is added. Given the expansion of the pandemic, economic activity decreased and implement strict measures in Clarksville and the rest of the country. Which include the temporary closure of a large number of businesses.

The closure means lack of liquidity, difficulty in meeting commitments with suppliers, customers and employees, among other problems. And while some may implement measures like telecommuting to stop operations altogether, this is not the case for everyone.

El coronavirus impact on small and medium-sized businesses will be decisive. But without a clear strategy to deal with the crisis and what comes after it, it will be difficult to recover. So this type of plan provides an opportunity to make timely decisions at a difficult time.

WAAH announced that they are activating the Hispanic Recovery Plan to help entrepreneurs affected by the coronavirus. The organization's initiative promotes collaboration among community members. Thus seeking greater commitment among all to overcome the pandemic.
