The specialist made it clear that exercising this career is not easy at all and that in the United States each state has its requirements to grant a real estate agent license. According to your experience in the state of Tennessee, you must be of legal age, have a high school degree and be a resident for at least 45 days.

There are different laws in each state

“Because you can have your license in different states. There are people who live for a few months in one state and then move to another ”. He also indicated that the first thing to do is take the course classes to be an agent, which are at least 180 hours.

Although you can take the course online, it is recommended that you do it in person and answer any questions you may have directly with the instructor and share experiences with other students. Then you have to apply for the two exams that will accredit you as an agent, one for the national scope and the other for the state.

Another piece of advice Franco gives is to take the time to study and be sure that you are ready to take the exam because "it is not easy." The cost of the course was 500 dollars, while the cost of the exams in each state is different but she paid 45 dollars.

After they give you your certificate, you must go to take your fingerprints for the database and then apply for your state license and in the company where you want to work as a contractor. You have to pay sales commission to said company for using the brand, generally the proportion is 80% for the agent and 20% for the agency. Then you can become independent.

Customer search

Franco stated that after meeting the requirements and being authorized to work as a real estate agent in the USA, what remains is to work and look for clients. The ideal is to do marketing to promote yourself, tell everyone you know that you have the license and ask them to recommend you.

One of the strategies he applies is to telephone the potential client and offer him his services. The important thing is to have confidence in yourself. If you want to know more, enjoy the full interview on our YouTube channel.
