As well as whether you can prove that the business is worth a million or a trillion dollars. If you have received a prestigious award in the United States or from another country. Or if you own copyright or registered patent. But it must be taken into account that the selection criteria are subjective, which makes obtaining them more difficult.

Startup Visa

This is a viable immigration route to settle in the United States and start your own business. The International Entrepreneur Rule repealed by Donald Trump was restored in May 2021 by President Joe Biden.

This allows foreign creators of emerging companies (startups) permission to work in the United States. You get it if you show that the company will be beneficial to the American public.

Those who are outside can opt for a “startup visa”; but they have investments in the country. Those who attend American schools and are part of a startup team. Those who have H-1B, L-1, O-1 and E-2 visas who want to start their own company with a US investor fund.

Savings needed for the visa

To apply to enter the program you must have raised $ 250 from a qualified investor. Another option is to have $ 100 from awards or grants from a municipal, state, or federal program.

They also require that you own at least 10% of the business, that you have an income 400% above the poverty line and that you be key in the business. The spouse will be given a work permit, a benefit that other visas do not have.

At the beginning it will be delivered for two and a half years, extendable for the same time. But in the hope that after 5 years you will qualify for another visa category or a green card.
