The reason for this is because the Department is in the early stages of launching a new tax filing system. The Department appreciates your patience during this transition. Read below to determine if your business needs to register on one or both of the websites.

Registration for the following taxes is available at TNTAP or at the Tennessee Taxpayer Access Point: (https://tntap.tn.gov/eservices/_/ ) 

Sales and use tax
Liquor for the beverage tax
Tobacco tax and licenses
Taxes on television and telecommunications sales

The tax types listed below are not available for filing through TNTAP, the Department's new tax filing website. If your business requires registration for any of the tax types listed below, please go to the online business registration website (https://apps.tn.gov/bizreg/). 

Business tax (gross income)
Franchises and special taxes
Car rental surcharge tax
Tire rate
Used motor oil
